Feed Issue Doctor helps Shopify merchants identify product catalog data issues that may affect product feeds.
Data We Access
The app requests read-only access to product catalog data through Shopify:
- shop domain and app session data,
- product IDs, handles, titles, status, vendor, product type/category,
- variant IDs, variant titles, SKU, barcode/GTIN, and image references,
- scan results generated by the app.
The app does not request order data, customer data, or write access in v1.
How We Use Data
We use this data to:
- run catalog issue scans,
- show issue summaries and issue rows,
- generate CSV exports and fix worksheets,
- remember ignored issues,
- provide scan history and scheduled scan summaries.
Retention
We keep only the app data needed to provide the current workflow:
- up to the latest five completed scans per shop, including their detected issue rows;
- up to the latest five failed scan metadata records per shop, without partial catalog snapshots or partial issue rows;
- ignored-issue fingerprints and their product/variant references until the merchant unignores them or uninstalls the app;
- scan settings, schedule settings, entitlement cache, and Shopify app session data while the app is installed.
Normalized product snapshots are temporary working data. They are deleted in the same terminal transaction when a scan completes or fails. On app uninstall or Shopify shop-redact, we hard-delete app-side sessions, settings, scans, issues, ignored-issue records, and shop records.
